Christine believes that in order to stick to a fitness program, it has to be FUN! You have to enjoy the type of exercise that you are doing, or the habit just won’t stick! You have to be able to smile and laugh while you are sweating and pushing past your comfort zone. She also believes that we need to train the body to handle real-life situations: those activities that are performed in daily life (pushing the car door closed, lifting your child out of the car seat, pulling the laundry out of the washer, etc). She believes in teaching the muscles to work together, not isolating them to work alone. Her movement-oriented programs consist of compound, whole body exercises.
Jessica Rose just recently received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is stoked to be working at FUNction and FITness. Though she holds a B.A. in English from Loyola Marymount University, over the past few years she has come to see just how important it is to have a healthy lifestyle (including clean eating and exercise), and decided to change career paths. Having just lost 30 pounds of her own "fluff," she understands how hard it is to swap out pizza for broccoli. She's so excited to apply what she has learned with NASM along with her own personal experience to help others reach their health goals. Her favorite exercise is burpees. Just kidding! It's burpees... with a BOSU ball.
Robert Sanchez started his fitness journey at the age of twenty-two when he became a personal trainer and fell in love with an ever evolving field. Along the way he has worked as a physical therapy aid where he learned many rehabilitation exercises for different injuries. Robert attended California State University Northridge and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. He enjoys playing is soccer, football and practicing martial arts. Robert is energetic and passionate about helping individuals reach their fitness goals. Robert is extremely happy and excited to be a part of the FUNction and FITness team. His favorite workout is the hang clean.
Cameron Singleton is a certified personal trainer by the American College of Sport Medicine. He also holds an associates degree in Exercise and Movement Science. Cameron recently moved back from Oregon where he was a group exercise instructor and personal trainer at the University of Oregon (go ducks!). He believes that exercise is medicine and is on the constant journey to become the best version of himself everyday.
Krissy Kenney graduated from Youngstown State University in Ohio with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. She intended to further her education and go to Physical Therapy school, but fatefully met her husband and started a family instead. After having two kids, she knew she wanted to get back into the gym! She tired working out at many different fitness facilities, but knew she was at home when she started at FUNction and FITness! Krissy always led an active lifestyle and enjoyed soccer and dance from when she was a kid, to all throughout college. Now she feels like she could keep up with her kids who enjoy those same activities she did when she was younger! Krissy is at FUNction and FITness most days and enjoys getting to know all of the clients. She is full of energy, always smiling, and loves to motivate clients to reach for their goals! Krissy’s favorite exercise is the TRX chest press.
